They divert you off to a 3rd party called "app assist" to troubleshoot anything technical like that and then app assist had to request my replacement board from PitBoss after a whole troubleshooting script.

You want to separate the two networks and then connect your grill to the 2.4ghz network, while keeping all your high end devices on the 5ghz band. Regardless, it should broadcast the SSID on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz allowing 2.4GHz or 5GHz devices to connect.
