Glenfield 30a vs marlin 336.
Hello, this is my JM stamped Glenfield 30A which is basically a Marlin 336 but with a cheaper stock and its in great condition. By my research it was made in 1973 based on the serial number. There is still plenty of rifling left so it hasn't been used that much. It comes with a Japanese made scope that is Glenfield branded and is very clear.

I have one and cut it down to 16", ported the barrel, laminate stocks, big loop and an XS scout rail. I still have to ream it out to 30-30 Ackley Improved. The 30AS has a birch stock, carbine style front sight, and I believe a stamped sheetmeatal style rear with the sliding elevator. The 336 has black walnut for stocks, adjustable semi buck horn rear sight, and a hooded bead sight on a ramp for a front.
